Developer Relations Program Manager - Google - São Paulo
Job description
Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus. As a Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it's your job to keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress and deadlines.
As Program Manager, you will coordinate and manage scalable developer outreach and support programs in your region. This could include responsibility for Google developer events, as well as having responsibility for content on code.google.com and regional developer blogs. Additionally, you will manage relationships with, and foster creation of local developer communities, including Google Developer Groups and other developer groups like Java, Python, JavaScript, and HTML5 groups. You will meet with local developers and companies, promoting Google technologies to them. The Program Manager role is not tied to a particular product assignment, but rather is regionally-focused in an attempt to drive interest in a broad range of developer products that are strategic to Google's success in various global regions. The Program Manager has a strong technical background, as well as history as an active participant in developer communities and exceptional project/program management skills.
Responsibilities
Make developers in the region successful by building applications and businesses on Google's developer products and APIs.
Represent Google's key products (Android, Chrome, Google+) as well as our myriad of other developer products relevant to the regional audience.
Coordinate and execute both online and offline outreach in the region. This could include responsibility for community-driven events like DevFests, as well as having responsibility for local content on developers.google.com and regional developer blogs and social networking channels.
Advocate for developers internally, and influence Google developer product strategy by working with Product Management, Engineering, PR, Marketing, Business Development, and other cross-functional teams.
Identify, engage and organize training for key developers to become experts, connect the best among them with internal and other external experts/communities, and encourage them to be involved in Google Developer Groups.
Minimum Qualifications
BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
Relevant work experience in a technical role with strong project and program management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
MS in Computer Science or related technical field
Experience with conference presentation or other technical public speaking.
Experience as an active participant in technical/developer communities, open source projects, or similar developer groups.
Strong command of web application or mobile application development landscapes.
Strong project and program management skills.
Excellent communication skills in English and Portuguese.
